Question:

Will rowing give you a big back? I'm a girl so I don't want that?

I plan on registering for a rowing course then if I like it I plan on going probably 2x/ week.

  1. It will not give you a big back, you also use your legs and 2 times a week won't affect you but in the long run it might....I dragon boat only on my left side for five years...(training last nine months a year) and my muscles were un-uniform, but that was five years....


  2. Not really.  Its a cardio and strength sport. Great for fat burning, as you're liable to work at a rate of 600-700 calories an hour, with short bursts of work rates at 1000-1200 calories/hour, but just for a couple minutes at a time.

    You'd need to focus a lot on body building for your back to do that.  Plus it depends on your genetics, too.

  3. no maybe if you did a longer course but deffinatly not 2 weeks!!
