Im a little chubby, and i want to slim down. Im quite muscular, i just have a little extra pudge, so im starting an 8 week running program in 2 days. I have a question though. If i start running, i think i will lose some of the weight right? (when combined w/ a healthy diet) BUT, will i gain muscle? i want to be smaller, not all masculin and muscular. Will my b***s get smaller? will i still be an hourglass? or will i turn into a rectangle? any women who run avidly, will you send me a picture of what you look like? im scared im going to turn into a man!

  1. I've been running for awhile now, and I used to be pudgy and whatnot, all i did was slim down. It burns ALOT of fat if you jog.

You wont turn into a man i promise! haha

  2. 8 weeks of running will simply put you in better areobic shape.  You'll have more energy and feel better.  You will look fine, and it won't make you look masculine.  Running is not like bodybuilding.  You will be fine and you will look like a woman.  Don't worry.

  3. No you won' t turn into a man, and yes you will slim down.

  4. Recreational running increases muscle mass?! Wow first time I heard that one!

  5. besides what others have said run at least 45 minutes at a time, so you must pace yourself. This is because you dont start burning body fat until you have been running for 30 minutes, so 45 is good.

  6. well im a dude ofcourse. Butt!!! I started an 8 month diet plan, so im eating healthy and running,  I have moobs (MAN b***s) and ive seen a big reduction in them, but thats cause im a guy plus im doing butterfly work outs good luck

  7. okay.........................

no you are not going to turn into a man

  8. running and other cardio is good, but you need to do some calisthenics and some flexibility training (like yoga or pilates) to get a toned body less bulky body.

  9. When your running, run hard till you sweat then you can back off and you will maintain that sweat. Sweating means your losing water weight. When you feel burning then your burning the fat and making muscle. You will lose weigh, and you wont get to much muscle just because your only running. You will get nice toned legs. Just when you eat make sure you do something to burn it off. Eat healthy but eat less. and excersize. Youll get there. good luck.

  10. I have been running for 8 years now and would recommend the following:

I would strengthen the core: calves, quads, hams, back and abdominal (the "six pack" muscles along with the obleks), chest and arms. But when strengthening these muscles, I would focus more on the muscle endurance not the muscle bulk. For more advice for this, I would consult with a personal trainer. For the running part, I would stay flexible as it helps/contributes to your balance (so do the muscles in your core) but also helps prevent some injuries like pulled muscles and shin splints. Also, I would try to make up a schedule where you can run for X amount of days and try to have a long run. I would start off slowly, running about 2-3 miles per run for the first week and increase my mileage per week. Make sure you have the following: a good diet, hydration, sleep, a good sense on how to take care of your body, and sleep. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Good Luck!!!

  11. You will not turn into a man!  You will slim down some and as long as you run length, you will lengthen your muscles.  Short sprints will contract your muscles.

Make sure to stretch well before running.  And have a cool down period and stretch afterwards.

Hydrate yourself some with water before, and then during and after.

You want to gain some muscle.  No, you will not 'bulk' up.  Your fat will decrease and your muscles will define themselves.

Why only 8 weeks?  Don't stress your body and think your results will come and that's all you have to do.  Running would be great to incorporate into your lifestyle forever.  Don't push yourself at the start.  Try and keep it up, you won't regret it, if you enjoy it.

    Good luck.

  12. yes but do it slowly, cus its healthier! and do some other activities along

  13. Nah. Many track girls are hot.

  14. Hmm... I've seen a lot of women that look like men because they run a lot. But some other women who run a lot look like women, and they look very nice. So I guess it just depends on how your body distributes muscle, fat, ect.
