  1. yes!!! running is great for you!! especially if you play soccer, the more the better!

  2. running will greatly help with soccer. but i think doing plyometrics will help more with kicking. squat thrusts/jumps, stuff like that.

Generally they say that forwards should be able to run about 5 miles nonstop and Defenders about 3.

  3. Well, a good running program will help you, but I don't just recommend a flat 30 minutes a day.   You should break up your running according to the 30%-20%-10% rule, and 1 day of rest.

If you continue to run the same amount of time, you should break it up where you run 30% 1 day each week, 20% 2 days, and 10% 3 days.  Your long run each week would be about 54 minutes.

NOW, this probably won't help you kick the ball any farther, nor will it help you get stronger.  Where you'll find the biggest benefit is in your RECOVERY TIMES.  You'll recover from those long sprints much more quickly having the long run training under your belt.

It's said that a pro soccer player runs about 6 miles during a match, and if you normally run long at about 9 minutes per mile, then you're right in the zone.  See how easy that works out??

    Good Luck

  4. Definitely running will improve your leg strenght and allow you to kick the ball harder. But if you want to get stronger by running you need to run on hills. It works out your legs more and builds more muscle. That will allow you to kick harder.

  5. Sure, running 30 minutes daily will make you stronger. However, you should add some variety. For some days, you should run 30 minutes; on other days, you should go for longer, maybe an hour. I've never been fully sure what to do to kick better.

  6. During soccer you run a ton so yes it would help.

It will make you stronger, healthier, and it is great exercise.

Maybe in the middle of the summer you could increase it to 45 then an hour! Don't push yourself to much though!
