  1. Yes. Most of having a "six pack" isn't about having muscle, it's about havig very little fat so the muscle shows up. So the more you run (or do any other sort of aerobic exercise) the more fat you should loose (as long as you don't eat more) and the more the muscles already underneth the fat should show up.

  2. It will help but it is not the only thing, if you run you will burn off the fat covering your ab muscles, but if you want a six pack than you need to go to the gym and do weights with abs. Thatis what will tone and sculpt your ab muscles to give you a six pack. Trust me I run every day and run 62 miles a week and i dont have a six pack you need to hit the gym

  3. To some extent yes, running will help lean you out but you still need to to ab exercises to get the definition of the six pack you are looking for ie... crunches. Also your diet needs to be a good one so you don't gain weight.

  4. A lot of runners have "skinny kid abs".  Everyone has ab muscles, the six pack comes from the muscles showing themselves.  If you run a lot of distance training, you burn off all the fat between the muscles and your skin, thus giving the appearance of abs.

The "real" six pack comes from working out the muscles to make them bigger and have them show up that way (though that still requires you to burn some fat).

Clearly, the most "impressive" abs come from burning the fat (via running or other exercise) and building the muscle.

    Good luck.
