Will runnning on an eliptical machine give you the same workout as running on a track?

basically what would give me a better workout; running on a track or on a machine?

  1. i don't think anything quite compares to the real thing


  2. The eliptical is good for cross training or if you are injured and can't run.  It's a good cardio workout and can complement running or help preserve endurance when injured.  However, it does not exercise your leg muscles the same way as running.  The track or treadmill are better.
