  1. Worth every penny. If it becomes free it will be ruined like regular radio.

  2. Like someone said, is Cable free? Nope...

Sat radio... you pay for the variety they offer like you do cable tv... and since they have spoiled many people, Look post merger for more commercials to air I think to help pay the bills, but since people are hooked like they are on cable tv.. people will pay for variety...

For me, the variety isn't big enough and the cost is outside what I think it's worth for me currently. If I was traveling like I was I'd consider it hard but I'm waiting post merger to make a hard look at the combined service.

  3. No.  That's the point about paying.  Satellite isn't regulated by the FCC if it is paid by subscribers, same as Cable TV.

I can say it's well worth the cost for me.  I have Sirius...all NFL games, commercial-free music stations, etc.

  4. no

  5. no, it is like having cable TV, it will never be free.

but its worth it, and i pay $12 a month

  6. No.  you either have to have commercials to fund it, or a fee.

  7. I pay $12 a month and it's the best $12 I spend. People complain about the commercials they hear, but the amount is way overblown. The channels I listen to never have any commercials, aside from the comedy channels, which has commercials for other Sirius channels. Some of the news channels have commercials, but that's it. Considering there are 200 channels to pick from, that's really good.

And no, satellite radio will never be free. The reason you don't pay for the crappy terrestrial AM/FM radio is because it is supported by commercials, therefore leaving no reason to charge.
