  1. The only thing Second Life will hurt is your real world social life.  It is addicting.

  2. What do YOU think will happen?

    It's just data.

You download it, it'll sit there and do nothing.

You run the installer, it will install.

You play it, it will play. If your computer isn't powerful enough, it'll just run slower.

It's not going to make your computer explode. Your dog won't die. The house won't catch fire.

You're paranoid about it, like it's going to kill your family in your sleep...

  3. A HP Pavilion MX70 is a monitor. Your computer actually has a model/number as well. Either way downloading it will NOT hurt your computer. As long as you verify the site you are downloading from is not fake and is the real deal you will be OK. With that being said either your computer will be fast enough to run it or it won't. No breaking or hurting will be involved. Good luck!

  4. Second life wont hurt your computer!

  5. There is no way to no without giving us the full specs of your computer like: RAM, free harddrive space, and processor speed.

But I can tell you that it will hurt your brain.

  6. If anything the program will just run slowly because it takes up so much room.

  7. as long as you have virus protection you r A OK!!

  8. It will not hurt your PC,  but it is not guaranteed to run well on all computers. Check out the minimum specs on www.secondlife.com

However, as a matter of regular security, always use a virus protection software on your computer.

  9. YESSSS please dont do it

    I downlaoded it

    followed all the rules

the **** is when they tell you that someone has given you something

like a shirt to wea or something in the game

it is an actual person and you're downlaoding a virus

i had to restore my enire computer the virus

is just someone trying to sell you a virus software

    they want your money

    its all a scam

plzz dont **** ur **** up

  10. I have the best for you!!!

  11. You just need to check your system specs. Somone posted the link so I won't repeat it. That will tell you if your computer can handle SL.

Martha is talking out of her backside quite frankly. There is NO WAY SL can give your computer a virus. All you have on your computer is a viewer to allow you to access SL. Anything you buy or are given in SL is stored on SL's servers - NOT on your computer. There is absolutely no contact between the things in SL and your computer and the viewer software saves nothing from SL to it's files or folders apart from texture data in the Cache folder (and you should clear that from Preferences in SL every couple of days anyway).

However, you do need to be careful about accepting things for a different reason. Every now and again, you get some smart alec who makes a scripted object that can wipe people's money in SL. For that reason, never accept things from people you don't know. If in doubt, use search to check the profile of the person trying to give you something and look at their creation date before you accept it. If they're new (just a few days old), DON'T take it. The person has most likely created this avatar under a false email address with the sole purpose of fleecing people of their money. If they're old and have 'Payment Info On File' chances are they're an established old hand at SL and are not giving you a bogus item. The people who make these things usualy try to con the people who are in SL just for s*x, so the money draining items are usually disguised as some s*x-orientated object and they will often add the name 'Xcite!' to it. Xcite! is a recognised brand of s*x body parts in SL and the genuine items are quite expensive to buy. The money hackers figure that by adding the name 'Xcite!' people will be greedy for something they can't afford to usually buy and will accept it. Once 'worn' it starts to drain your money and never stops. I've actually seen a transcription of a dialogue between a Linden Labs employee and a guy who fell for this. So very funny, but scary how his money decreased by L$1000 every 10 seconds or so until all his money was gone.

One last thing. SL does have a few bugs and after playing for a few hours, you may get a message saying your virtual memory is low. Hopefully, this will be fixed on the next viewer release. For now - should you get that, or notice that your computer is running a bit slow - just log out of SL and then log back in. That should cure the problem. It's a pain I know, but something we all have to deal with in SL.
