Shingles oh no! Those are the worst! I had them for a long time. The good news is, when they do go away, they usually do not return, kind of like chicken pox. I had them on my side. I think it's worth it to try to save up for the medicine. They will give you something like Famvir or Valtrex. They go away pretty soon after taking the meds. Don't pick at them either, they will leave scars!!!

The newer drugs are more expensive but Acyclovir has similar results in studies and is very very cheap.  If you are in the US - it is on most of the $4 lists at pharmacies.  

Shingles will go away on its own - it can take a while though and the medication can help speed things up a bit.  You should talk to your doctor for further info.

Shingles is a resurgence of the chicken pox virus in your system.  Frankly, I do not know about "healing"  I think you probably have to wait it out.  go to WebMD and prowl around.  You'll probably get your  answer there
