I've heard again & again that toilet germs coat your bathroom when you flush.

I don't want that if I can help it!

Can I avoid germs this way?

  1. According to Feng Shui it will.  It will also save money, as your good energy will not leave with the waste.  Good luck!

  2. Commercials don't know everything: They just want you to think they do.

I don't know if it would or not, but there are other reasons for keeping the lid shut in my place (cats, and we use it as a place to sit sometimes).

  3. SLOW DOWN!!!! Germs are everywhere...There is only so much you can do.  Wipe the seat down with toilet paper, use the toilet, flush it.   THEN wash your hands,,  use paper towels to dry your hands and then use the same towel to open the door THEN throw away the towel....Try to keep from touching things such as stair rails,  door k***s.. and keep those fingers out of your mouth..

  4. you are too paranoid germs are every where and that is one of the craziest things i have heard.

  5. if you want to be really certain of preventing cross contamination then why not build another building next to the house for just the bathroom??

This is not to be funny. When bathrooms were starting to be built in  living quarters people of that time thought the idea was disgusting.

  6. hahaha do what my sister does. I swear she suffers from hardcore OCD and she actually has to cover the toilet in clingfilm and then close the lid and then flush. It's like whoa!! And she also makes you wash your hands twice and then use that antibacterial rub. Crazy huh? Her toilets so clean you could eat off it. It's proper blinging and shining.

  7. Not sure. I've heard this too, and I'm always crazy about it. I like turn my toothbrush and everything that's mine like away, or sometimes even out of the bathroom, when I flush. I don't think it comes out of the seat itself so much, but the top part of the toilet because I know it's said that you can't see it do that, but it does.

  8. yes it will as it stays inside the bowl.

  9. Yes, germs are everywhere!  However, being "phobic" about it is just silly!  I think if you exercise "caution" while in the bathroom and practice minimal cleanliness you will be all right.. Shutting the toilet lid does seem to be a good solution to your problem.. As the water will not spray and get around the room....

*I keep the family toothbrushes in a drawer instead of on the counter... Though I clean my bathroom everyday....

    good luck
