No, of course not.  As long as the fish are appropriately acclimated to your water, it should never be an issue to keep fish in stable water conditions, even if they are slightly different than the preferred water conditions for the fish.  The more important thing is to keep the water parameters stable.  As long as they're stable, the fish won't be stressed.


  2. YES!! You need to get the water cleaner (water drops that you can buy at any pet store) and put it in the water before putting in the fish!! I have dont that before.

    OR you can boil the water, and then let it sit overnight untill its room temp again!

  3. Soft water will not kill your fish. What kills your fish will be chloramines and ammonia in your water. Get a water test kit and keep your water at 7.0. To be sure before you put your water in the tank or your fish let the water set for a total of 24 hours with the pump running.
