There is this kitten that is a little over six weeks old and she is not nourishing off of her mother no more, but she also does not drink from a bowl right now either. Therefore she is not getting enough fluids in her little body. She is having trouble using the bath room really bad, to where when she does have to p**p it does not come out of her body to the litter box or to the ground. It gets stuck in her r****m and stays there for a while. there fore with that happening it is also causing her r****m to swell really bad. Is there anything that can be done to help her get enough nourishment in her body so that she will be able to use the bath room like she needs to and to help the swelling go down? Cat haters please stay away. I am not going to kill this cute kitten.

  1. yeah there is something you can do....take her to the vet, what you are explaining can be an emergency for the kitten.  her tiny body will deteriorate rapidly if she does not receive medical care.  If you cannot afford a vet, take her to the humane society.  this might mean you have to give her up, but isn't that better than seeing her suffer??

  2. Vet Tech, not a vet.  At 6 weeks she can eat just fine without her mom.  Use canned food and mix a little water with it.  You can also buy her kitten milk to drink for another week or two.  Have a fresh bowl of water available.  Has she been dewormed yet?  She should have been at least twice by now. This could be causing her problem.  If her r****m is swollen because she is constipated, you really do need to have a vet check her out.

  3. Poor little thing.  What a shame to have such a rough start.  :(

The only thing to do is take her to the vet asap for much needed medical attention.  Honestly, without it, the little dear does not stand much of a chance the way it sounds.  But if you take her before it is too late, she may just have a shot.

Many vets will work out a payment plan if you ask or you can reach out to a rescue group or shelter if money is an issue.  Not that you said it was,  I just figured I would put it out there since so many people on "YA" say the reason they do not go to the vet is for lack of $$.

Best Of Luck to you both.  I hope she gets better soon.

  4. not a vet but here it goes..if she truly cannot eat or drink on her own you will have to get kitten milk formula from the et store and a little bottle and feed her like a baby...at 6 weeks she should eat/drink on her own...i have a 4weeks old orphan that will eat from a bowl i mix the kitten milk and canned ate style food together and she eats it right up

to help the kitten with her bm's take a warm dam clothe and stroke her privates with it..it is how her mom would have helped her go
