I'm at a point in my life where I'm tempted about joining the military, is this a wise decision for me? Also, I have a plan to start working out at the YMCA and get a local 711 job. Is this a good idea or should I wait and do nothing while waiting for some undefined miracle from a force I cannot determine? This is really bugging me.

  1. As a Veteran my answer is going to be a bit biased but there is nothing wrong with joining the military as long as you take advantage of all its benefits like job training or even college.

  2. Hey how old are you? I think you are confuse, you should make a list of your priorities, goals, missions, dreams, and make plans you have to plans, which is good, but you can create more plans so you have mor obtions then make a list of what fits more your personality and needs and then decide. if you like the military then inform yourself about it and about the field that you would like to go befor making a decition. if not try to find a job and if you decide to enter in moratorium and do "nothing" then be prepare to ask your self in a couple of years why you lose so much time... you should think, inform your self, evaluate your proorities and act proactively.. good luck..

  3. bro just sit around and wait for that package from ed mcmahon to hit your house and you will be fine. Im 35 and i am still waiting.......Do you want to end up like me????? then get off your tush and get in the military and get a life before you end up like me.

    still waiting

  4. Do what you want to do; It's your life. I'm planning on going to college and finishing my major out; Which is Journalism. It's really bugging me out about which college to choose, but I have to try something. So, I'm choosing the closet college near my home.

  6. If you are out of High School, and 18 years of age, you can get into the military.  If you are looking for a better future, lean towards the U. S. Coast Guard, Air Force, Navy in that order.  forget the Army and Marines, they can offer little beyond their specific branches of service.

The more promising jobs come with education, 7/11 is not a good plan, minimum wages many places do not even pay the rent, let alone food and clothing.

  7. If you have a high school diploma and have no physical problem's and no family obligations and are basically free to choose your own course in life than join one of the service's (Air Force) and get on with your career believe us it will open up to you while you do your time in the service but you will at least be with other men in the same situation and it helps to have company:) Good Luck
