I notice that a lot of sportscards remained at the same price for quite some time now. Even the sportscards of really good players who actually made it to the Hall of Fame. Sportscards dating back to the 1970's are at a low price. Now, the Sportscards before the 1970's are worth a fortune, no matter what it may be Football, Baseball, or Basketball. I know part of the reason is because of scarcity, they didn't make that many sportscards back then. How long do you think it will take for the scarcity of the sportscards 1970's on after to come into effect so that they are worth some good money? You know become rare.

  1. A BIG part of the problem is:

    a) The card MAKERS have flooded the market after sports-cards starting becoming "worth-something" in the mid '80s as a result of a FEW rich persons having disposable income and paying large sums for cards.

    b) Mom's aren't throwing their kids collections out as often... or for that matter the kids themselves.

I'd have to guess it will be 30 to 40 more years before cards from the 1980's have any worth.
