In the future once stem cells are readily available, will doctors be able to cure nearsightedness/myopia with stem cells? If so, how much longer do you think it will be?

  1. Myopia is caused by the eye being too long. Stem cells won't do anything to stop your eye from growing.

  2. I'm certainly not a specialist in that field, but it seems very unlikely, because Myopia isn't caused by cell degeneration.

Stem cells work by replacing dead or damaged cells.

There is new hope for those with macular degeneration though with cells being injected directly.Trials have shown good results in several cases.
