They are in my relative's garage in chicago. Will they get damaged so that I couldn't play them anymore? The worst that the winter gets there this winter is about 1 degree farenheit. I spent a lot of money on those! ARGGE

  1. The discs are supposed to be stored at room temperature.

Storing the discs at temperature extremes can damage the discs.

Extreme cold can cause contraction while extreme heat can cause expansion, both of which will stress the layers and possibly cause delamination of the layers or rotting of the reflective layer(s).

  2. unfortunately you chose bluray over hddvd so they are already poor quality :)

  3. store them in their case cold is ok the heat and humidity might be of an issue store in those plastic tote bins that you see in w/mart

  4. Put them in plastic bags so they can't get moisture to them.  Heat is more destructive than cold or water, though.
