Will citrus oil run in a diesel engine if heated properly just like veggie oil? Also, what is an easy way to turn tangerines and oranges into homemade oil? will the seeds need to be separated and pressed or what? I have access to an unlimited quantity of tangerines and lemons(abandoned grove) that is why I'm interested.thanks.

  1. My guess is it will cost you more to extract and refine the citrus oil than it costs for a gallon of gas.

  2. it will not run a diesel car/truck citris oil is by taking the finest fruits anbd just grinding  them until they are juice then filter them until they are somewhat clear liquid boil it taste it and see if it is bitter its oil

  3. yes you can squeeze the peels and seeds to get the oil.  The citus oils are worth more as just that than as fuel, so just sell the oils.

  4. The citrus oil is in the peel of the citrus fruit, and yes it will burn, after working many years in the citrus industry, we would hold a flame to an orange peel and squeeze it, watching the spark for the oil as they ignited.

you can also distill the the citrus fruit in to alcohol. and thus make ethanol.
