Will stretching my legs everyday help my high kicks and mid kicks feel more confortable and will it make them?

  1. absolutely stretching your legs everyday will make your kicks feel more comfy.it wont make them though.to feel in complete control you must train the muscles in your body to be strong enough and flexible enough to kick where you require it to and remember a kick must be quick enough or...oops.your done!

Yes, but only if you stretch correctly.  Make sure your legs are warmed up by jogging or doing a similar activity for a few minutes.  Then, do what is called dynamic stretching - prop your foot up on something close to your stretching limit and hold it for 15 seconds or so, then push down with your heel as hard as you can for 5 to 10 seconds, then relax and continue the stretch, trying to stretch a little farther than before.  After you stretch, practice your kicks, gradually increasing the height until you are at your maximum.  Try this for a week and you should see measurable improvement.

Yes, stretching will make your mid- to high-level kicks easier to perform, and they will be more "comfortable", but do not sacrifice flexibility for strength. for example, which is more flexible: a tree limb or a wet noodle? Both bend, but the noodle bends more, right? Now, which one would you rather hit someone with?

    High kicks are nice; I practice them myself. But don't rule out the effectiveness of a kick to the stomach: it can be just as incapacitating as a kick to the head, and is somewhat easier to land, because you have a bigger target.

  5. It should unless you are stretching totally wrong...

    I began karate a while back and we stretch every practice for about 15 mins.

    My max hight for kicks has improved a lot (about 1 1/2 feet).

    You can also just do a lot of kicks close to your limit and that will help make them easier and more comfortable. Also you will improve height.
