  1. No, it won't. If you were diagnosed with a medical problem that had to be treated by a psychiatrist (schizophrenia, etc.) that probably would.

  2. All Law enforcement agency's put their candidates through a Psychological written and a Psychological Oral examination. If you have been seen by a Psychologist or Psychiatrist you will need to disclose this in your Psychological interview. You will then have to sign a waiver allowing the new Psychologist to be able to access your file from your Doctor. The Psychologist will then have to determine whether you have any areas of concern that would prohibit you from performing the essential job functions of the Law Enforcement Position you are applying for. We have hired people that have seen Doctors in the past, and we have disqualified people that have seen Doctors in the past. It really comes down to the individual being looked at as a case by case basis. There is no "black and white" answer. Just in case you were thinking about it, don't lie. If it is discovered that you have lied, you will be cut loose. Good luck.

  3. I honestly believe that seeing a psychologist on a regular basis should be a job requirement for being a civil servant. Many are put in situations that can cause post traumatic stress syndrome and others just feel the need to abuse thier position because of emotional or pchological problems. I feel if it were a job requirement for officers of the law to see a psycologist regularly, there would be a whole different public view of police personel  in general. I also feel it should be a job requirement to take and PASS an ethics class but thats a whole topic.

  4. Only if they look at the question that you have asked on yahoo  question. lol
