Question:

Will the 'Azores High' make an appearance?

In recent years the Azores High has been more South than usual and not even reaching the British Isles. This has lead to the UK not getting really decent weather. Any weather buffs out there?

  1. Ooh, I was just pining for a bit of Azores action this morning (Italy).    It's all a bit Atlantic right now and it's seriously grey and depressing.  Fingers crossed...

  2. Not sure.

  3. I'm sure it will make it's usual appearance.  It typically oscillates in strength and position, and is usually strongest in the summer into early fall. Right now there has been a fairly persistent trough over the north Atlantic, but that should weaken over the next few weeks as the westerlies continue to retreat northward.
