  1. plus theres the loch ness monster

  2. Prestwick, Leuchars, Kinloss, Lossiemouth etc are all big enough to get a A380 down.

All it needs is 6000ft runway.

It probably wouldnt ever operate commercially out of those but it can divert and land there. In fact any airport that can operate a 747 can operate an A380. Its part of its design brief.

  3. If the airport has a long enough runway and the jet ways by which passengers enter and exit the aircraft are tall enough it is very possible that a A380 could sometime land and take off in Scotland.  It depends on the number of passengers wanting to go to a specific destination.  Naturally, the airline would want to fill the aircraft.

  4. nope could land at INV (Inverness) tha An-225 worlds largest plane to have flown more than once males often visits for fuel to feed its 6 engines to move its 650t bulk into the sky.

  5. Not that possible unless Scotland upgrades its airport like Sydney. I've been to Sydney and have seen the A380. It is actually quite small but it uses lots of space for take off and landing.

  6. What that guy said about Inverness is true, however it would never take off from there, the runway is too short.

The only runway in Scotland that an A380 could both land and takeoff again at is Kinloss RAF base as it has the biggest runway in Scotland.

However at present there isn't even demand for aircraft such as the B747 to operate in Scotland, so i doubt the A380 would be needed.

Having said this, Aberdeen Airport is expanding so that it can be a Transatlantic base, again though, the biggest aircraft they would use would probably be a B777.

  7. Not since the last time

  8. I don't think so.

Glasgow could see one or two but the chances are very slim.

  9. Not just Scotland....it can only land on around 40 or 50 airports in the WORLD at present.

    70 planned by 2011
