They very well could, and adding Mark Texieira helped them out.

They will be tough to beat, but they will have it tough too. They need to clear Boston/tampa and the NL will most certainly offer up a challenging opponent (cubs, knock on wood). I would say that their pitching is excellent and will certainly make them a formidiable challenge, but all teams mentioned can match it (brewers too). As for the offense, I think the teixiera deal helps, but it will all come down to who gets hot at the right time.

i would bet all my money on them winning the alcs, now that they have another good bat (they didnt have many, if the pitching gave up a lot of runs, theyre most likely guna lose)
