  1. Well we have one certain Gold in sailing and a 99.9% chance of another sailing gold, so that will boost us to 10 Golds. Which will mean Michael Phelps hasn't beaten us. We might pick up a Gold or 2 in the remaining cycling events. Also Triathlon might be a goer, as well as some of the team sports like Hockey and Softball. We might get a surprise Gold in Diving or a totally and utterly unexpected Gold in the Synchro Swimming

  2. To be honest, I am not sure.  Right now the leading country in golds is China, which is impressive at the very least.  The US will probably catch up and it will be a close race for total golds but overall is the US probably.  Aussies have a tough road ahead of them if they want to attain the top three in the medal count.  The weather is rough.

  3. Anything can happen, you never know.  There is still the hockey and I'm sure there are other events we will have a chance at - Maybe the hurdles!  Who knows.  Fingers crosses and go the Aussies.

  4. I hope so.

There are a couple virtually guaranteed from Sailing and we still have the Opals, hockey and other team sports.

In addition there always seems to be some freak who comes from no where to win gold, but that could happen in any country.

  5. 2-3 in Sailing

Potentially Male and Female medals in the Triathlon

Steve Hooker in Men's Pole Vault

    Women's and Men's Hockey

    Women's Softball

Women's beach volleyball - definite chance.

    Women's Basketball

plus a few others may surprise.
