  1. These new regs are gonna pull SA rugby down the drain.

You cant make a team without looking at merit! Whats the point then? Isnt sport about the best of the best? Why does "representivity" have to be important when it comes the sportsfield?

Anyway, why force change at the top? It needs to come from the bottom up... Blacks are starting to get an intrest in rugby (the win defintly helps a lot!), so theres a good chance there'll be some talent come 2011.

Debbie - There has been no call about putting more whites in the soccer teams (there are a few, but not enough). Its all about cricket and rugby, nothing else.

  2. I'm a South African, and everytime I think about it I want to puke! I can't wait to finish my studies so that I can finally get out of here. We don't belong in Africa anyway...

  3. SA is rife with all types of quota systems, affirmative actions, black empowerment schemes etc in just about every aspect of sport, politics and life in general. The politicians seem to think that this levels the "playing fields" after years of oppression. Funny thing is though I think it actually works against them. It creates a scenario of entitlement without effort,  false reward, empty appointment and loss of self respect. The insistence of a quota system by the politicians is usually a way to tap into cushy jobs, big pay checks and ego pleasing perks and percieved status without actually delivering the goods. When the system collapses under the burden of the parisitcal gleaning they simply walk away in search of greener fields. If SA are "black" by 2011 lets hope it is a team based on merit and not a matter of political (racial) posturing. The ANC learnt well from their former masters and now that the shoe is on the other foot they have merely applied those lessons with a bit more surreptitiousness and guile. If current intentions are true they will destroy the rugby culture in SA (because they have no clue what it is about in the first place) and apart from what can be pilfered from the savings bank have no real interest in the sport. Rugby in SA only has to glance at the way SA Soccer is administrated to see nothing but poor management, corruption, absence of world class skills and general "African" mayhem. The scary thing is that if you look beyond this naive posturing there is nothing of substance. They don't know that they don't know!

  4. I'll say yes if it makes me the best answer.

  5. My opinion is that the quota system is a disgrace!

All teams should be decided on ability not colour and this is almost as racisit as Apartheid. It is not a forward move as the SA government seem to think but a backward move.

Example SA Cricket, one of the WORLD's best batsemen, Kevin Pieterson ws denied a place in his native SA becuase he is white and the quoata system wouldn't allow it.

But as an Englishman i suppose that benefitted me.

  6. ha ha ha that is funny , and yes probably. All Blacks 1 and All Blacks 2

  7. Black South Africans are traditionally soccer players.  Does anyone

know how many white South Africans are in their National team?  Just curious to know if the quota system is in place for all sports in south africa?

  8. This will ruin the tri nations. South African rugby will sink into obscurity as they drop down to a status of a Scotland or Wales on the world stage. White South Africans simply wont want to play for the Springboks and will go overseas to European club rugby or even change alliances and play for teams like the Aussies. God knows they need help in their scrums and having a heap of springbok forwards wanting to call Australia home would be a godsend for them.

  9. all blacks lol

    nice one

lets see if theyre better than the real one...something to think off lol
