Question:

Will the Canon Powershot SD1100is fit in the Canon Underwater housing originally manufactured for the SD1000?

My SD1000 is dead and Best Buy is junking it out (yay for the extended warantee!) but they dont carry SD1000s anymore. (the last time this happened, they just replaced the camera. now they're giving me a camera credit)...

The new SD1100is seems like it's the same body style and configuration of the SD1000, and I REALLY need it to fit in the housing because that's what I take when I SCUBA!

Anyone know if it'll work? I hate to think I wasted the money on the underwater housing only to not be able to use it anymore...

  1. I think if you take the housing to the store and ask if you can try the other camera in it there, you should be able to see if it fits.

    If not, then contact Canon and see what they say.
