Will the Champions League Round of 16 curse strike Man Utd?

I wish them well, but the title winners seem to have serious trouble getting past the Round of 16 in their title defence since the Round of 16 was introduced in the Champions League in place of the second group stage.

Porto (2004 Champions) get knocked out in the Round of 16 by Inter the following season. (Eventual winners Liverpool)

Liverpool (2005 Champions) get knocked in the Round of 16 by Benfica the following season. (Eventual winners Barcelona)

Barcelona (2006 Champions) get knocked out by Liverpool in the Round of 16 the following season. (Eventual winners AC Milan)

AC Milan (2007 Champions) get knocked out by Arsenal in the Round of 16 the next season. (Eventual winners Manchester United)

So, do you think Man Utd can break the jinx? If not, who do you tip to knock them out?
