  1. currently both are too expensive to make energy production efficient.

    Solar:

"From our calculations and assumptions above, we know that a solar panel can generate 70 milliwatts per square inch * 5 hours = 350 milliwatt hours per day. Therefore you need about 41,000 square inches of solar panel for the house. That's a solar panel that measures about 285 square feet (about 26 square meters). That would cost around $16,000 right now. Then, because the sun only shines part of the time, you would need to purchase a battery bank, an inverter, etc., and that often doubles the cost of the installation. "

My concern is that the environmentalists who push for this might raise holy h**l when we have to cut down trees to get the sunlight to my solar panels or to keep from blocking the wind.

Hard fact: If every car stopped using gas tomorrow, we would still need 5 million barrels a day of Oil.

  2. To cheap to meter.

Ike, 1955 when asked how much electricity from atomic power would cost.

    Earth Likes Ike

  3. Its gonna be expensive as h**l but their logic is that in the long run it will be cheaper.

Like installation, maintenance and all that stuff. Not really easy overhauling the system.
