  1. The USA would be a better place if pot were legal.

  2. Do they enforce them now? I think all they really want to do is steer the news cameras away from them.

  3. Personally, I think every police should ignore those violations everywhere.

  4. No these violations should not be ignored during the DC. The eyes of the nation will be watching not only the convention but the city of Denver altogether. Hospitality, accommodations, civic participation, police patrol, etc.

The country (world probably) is watching, Denver. Give'em something good to say. This is your time to shine.

  5. I'm sure the Democrats hope they ignore the violations.

  6. They will near and about the convention areas and the prostitutes will disappear as well as belligerent smokers who will just hang-out in Boulder. Should they ignore these violation trust me they won't, the city will have a good clean image for the visiting Democrats who want the city vote desperately. Don't worry!

  7. I think wiemercats, D_Yon, and aeriol7 are about right.  If anything it would be politically embarrassing for anything to happen that gives the impression of the Democrats being no values hedonists.  Odds are the Convention organizers have selected Denver in part for the ability of the local authorities to deal with the indiscreet, discreetly.

All this falls into the category of contemporary business as usual image control.

So, if you're going to San Francisco put some flowers in your hair; but if you're going to Denver bring your own stash, as well as your mistress, or your wife, if you can stand her.

Wish2Travel, how are either Marijuana possession or prostitution victimless crimes?  You don't call potheads victims?  You think these people would be the same way without weed?

And on prostitution, I know alot of people think it's a lifestyle, or dare we say it, a career choice.  But just, what do you think pimps do?  Don't tell me you buy into that they provide a secure and safe working environment for the hookers bull?  At the least, since when do hookers suck at providing their own safety (at least any worse than the pimps do)?

  8. I wouldn't assume that.

  9. Although I don't support laws on either subject as they are victimless crimes, Laws are laws and until they are changed they should be enforced for everyone.
