Question:

Will the GOP convention be postponed?

Both Bobby Jindal and Rick Perry, governors of Louisiana, and Texas say that they will stay in their states. Both have a prime time convention speech to give. I think the convention needs to be delayed 2-3 days. McCain has successfully stalled Obama's momentum through Sarah Palin's VP choice. I think he can last it out a few more days and then gain his own momentum. What do you think?

  1. Unless the governors are elected delegates their appearance at the convention is immaterial, regardless of their speech making.

  2. eh of course it will be.

"they dont want to look like they are partying"

so they will all just have a private cookout at mccains house

  3. I think they should delay it and bring it down to a couple of days rather than four full days.

Gustav is a 4 now........... scary.

  4. It doesn't matter, not too many people will watch it any how.

  5. I have a feeling that they will postpone it

  6. Well, I know during Katrina when all those people were standing on top of their houses dying of thirst and hunger, Kongdellisa Rice was out buying expensive shoes.

Republicans don't even know the United States exists except as a place  to strip of resources to sell to the Chinese.  They'll go on with their loser convention right on schedule - come h**l of high water.  Let's hope they get mobbed by protesters for their last 8 wasted years of "performance".

  7. Probably not. Christian groups in Colorado prayed for Obama's acceptance speech to be rained out but the weather seems to be targeting a disruption of the Republican convention instead. Hmmm, anyone check with Pat Robertson on this? It might be a plus of Jindal & Perry are absent, and they might hit a trifecta and keep Bush out of the lineup too. They might use the weather as an excuse to down size the event to compensate for the lack of real interest in it. Bottom line, I hope the people of the Gulf coast are all fine. PS. Mccain's VP pick is terrific for Obama-Biden and has done nothing to "stall" the momentum. 38,000,000 people watched Obama's acceptance speech.

  8. No it won't be. The republicans are concerned though about the political impact of the timing of the storm.  George Bush and John McCain were busted, when photos of them celebrating McCain's birthday were released on the day Katrina hit.  McCain tried to spin the facts, by saying he was involved and concerned for Katrina victims as he was eating cake.

"Senator John McCain took direct aim at the Bush administration on Thursday as he stood in the lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans, the area hardest hit by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and declared that “never again will a disaster of this nature be handled in the terrible and disgraceful way that it was handled.”

Now, George Bush and John McCain are going to have deal with critics that will say they were having a party while the Gulf coast floods.

  9. Oh, sure, they can just push the "hold" button and make a few thousand delegates wait  Notify the airlines to honor the delegates' tickets whenever they choose to show up.  Notify all the hotels to not expect anybody to show up right now, but to hold those rooms until later.  Cancel all the catering and entertainment..

    This isn't a neighborhood picnic you're talking about.  .
