  1. Probably not, they might be marginally better though.

  2. No I don't think so. Sure they got better with Favre, but so did every other team in the AFC East. The Dolphins got a leader in Pennington, The Patriots are better with John Lynch, and the Bills stayed the same, but with another year under their belt, they are more experienced and are turning into a better team.

  3. i think they will with laverneous coles.....and additions on defense

they have the potential to be super bowl contenders

  4. No way. Bret is going to have a lousy year.

  5. By the time Favre figures out the offense, the season will be half over and they'll likely only top out at 8 and 8.

  6. No.

  7. ok. the jets made a good move in getting favre but there are a few problems with that deal. they let go of chad pennington, dumb. what happens two months from now when brett decides his hearts in green bay and he retires. then the jets are left with no experienced QB. and what happens when they get the brett favre of 06 instead of the brett favre of 07? to many issues. sorry, but that division and that confrence  is too strong to be thinking playoffs for the jets. i think the packers have a better shot at the playoffs with aaron rodgers

  8. Yeah!!!  He's the beast!

  9. there is NO WAY IN H$#& that Bret (THE BABY ) Favre will make it to the playoffs.

  10. If they can do it with a 7-9 record

  11. I've said this before and I'll say it again.

Brett Favre did not come out of retirement to win a Super Bowl.

The Jets are not a very good team.  They are horrible with or without Brett.  You will not see the Brett of last year this season.  This will be the year that Brett realizes that it is truly time for him to retire.  I love Brett.  I've enjoyed watching him play throughout his career.  But it's over.

The Jets have a long way to go.

  12. I think they could go 10-6 or 11-5 at best...which would put them in the playoffs...but they won't get past the Patriots in the AFC East...2 losses will be to the Pats...

  13. Name the last time that a team went out, bought a bunch of players in the free agent market and became instant contenders. You might be thinking awhile, because it doesn't really ever happen.  The Saints of two years ago maybe because of them getting thier QB but even then that was their only major pickup.  Playoff teams usually come from teams who foster their own talent, picking up only free agents who fit the system and fill a really big need.

Since free agency started, there hasn't been anyone that has gone from nobodies to contender from spending a lot of money in free agency.  Trust me, as a Chiefs fan, I've seen it tried several times and fail.

The Jets will be better, and I would give them an outside chance at a wild card spot.  I'd say 7-9 is more likely, still an improvement, but they should really be finding who is going to play after Favre instead of hoping that Favre can take them on a magic carpet ride to a title.

  14. No... one player will not make the Jets a better team.

Also you have to wonder when Favre's arm is already hurting and he has only been playing for a week.  How is he going to hold up for the entire season?

  15. seriously no they're still the jets and NY media will eat him up!
