Question:

Will the Macbook connect to my network?

Alright, so I'm thinking of buying a Macbook, but here's the problem-whenever my friends come over with their Macs and try to connect to my wireless network, they can't. On the Apple site, it says that Macs have a 802.11n Wi-Fi and I have a T-Mobile Hotspot @ home. So does that mean if I get a Mac, it won't be able to connect to my network?

  1. Yes, when setting up the connection on the Mac you just need to make sure you choose 802.11g.

  2. Mine works fine. Your friends are probably just dumb.

  3. yeah, you should be able to, as long as you have got the WEP key or password to the hotspot, just type in the password when you connect to it, the first time you turn on your mac it goes through all of it and you have the opportunity to type in the password, that's if it is a locked network, you should be fine, macs are worth it, and if it doesn't work, phone apple or your providing broadband and they should sort it out. good luck anyway mate
