Will the Palin pick have much impact on the election?

She added some excitement and interest to the convention and the race, but so far the people say: no difference. "Views of Palin largely reflect partisan loyalty and show she's having little initial impact on which presidential ticket people support, the ABC News survey showed." What say you?

  1. She sure made me get off the fence in a hurry.  Obama/Biden 2008.

  2. I totally agree with the survey because it makes sense.  She would only bring excitement to the people who were already planing to vote republican, I don't see how it would have any impact on those who are more in the middle.  She has excited social conservatives.

I truly think all McCain has done is alienate those who are a little more liberal but might have voted for him (like me).  But now there is just no way with the possibility that she could be put in charge if something happened to him.

McCain made his choice and this was NOT a unifying decision.

  3. It may convince Republicans to go vote, who may otherwise have sat out the election, but she does not seem to have pulled many independents to their side.

  4. ABC? That's like accepting a poll by the daily Kos.

According to Zogby and Gallup, McCain and Obama are in a dead heat as of today.

Palin will make a huge difference.

  5. She polarized/united both parties, and the Republicans are outnumbered.

  6. She already has had impact, stealing Obamas thunder

    McCain/Palin 2008

  7. Hard to say. She's so little known on the national scene, it's possible that as people learn more about her and her political history that she will have an impact - but whether that impact will be positive or negative for the McCain campaign? I think it's too soon to tell. Ask me again in a month.

    Cheers

  9. I am an independent voter and disgusted by Palin's presence. It shoved me more on Obama's side--when I wasn't really impressed with him either. Still don't agree with him on some things, wasn't too impressed by his silly theme. But at least he hasn't lowered the election process to the level of Jerry Springer style antics where a presidential candiate shakes hands with the caliber of a loser like Levi.

  10. I'm guessing 60% of Americans vote the party line and are not subject to voting for the other guy.  Probably another 25% have already made up their mind.

Of the 15% that are still undecided, I'm guessing the Palin choice isn't going to make any difference.

If she makes a difference at all, it will be in getting more people to the polls.  If religious nuts and women turn out in bigger numbers just to vote for her, it could have an effect. albeit a small one.  But if it's in a key state, it could make the difference.

  11. As a Democrat her pick just magnifies how much of a cronie McCain is.

Only thing she's got under her belt is being Governor of a state with more Elk then people.
