  2. It's more than possible, it's very likely.  They went 21-7 in Aug. That's .750 ball!  They are playing unbelievable baseball right now with no signs of slowing down.  Of those 28 games, 13 were away.  Of those 13, they lost 4.  That's .692 away ball!  I am a long time Red Sox fan, and I hate saying this, but I really don't know if we'll be able to catch the Rays at this point.

The Sox played .666 ball in Aug. w/ 18-9 record, and we LOST ground.  .666 baseball wasn't good enough to keep pace with the Rays!  Unreal.

If "all" they do is play the .622 ball they've avg'ed for the season, that gives them 16 or 17 wins.  Just enough to get to 100.  But they are wicked hot right now and have handled their major injuries as well as the Red Sox have.  I think their win total will be 102 or 103.

I am very curious if they will be able to keep up this level of ball come playoff time with such a young, inexperienced team.

  3. They could win 100 this year. I can't believe I'm saying that. They are very hot in August...I think they are playing well over .700-ball. Although their schedule get much harder, and consists of lots of road games, as long as they keep their current percentage up, they will get to 100. However, seeing as how their current .622 percentage was helped a lot by their great August, I'll say that they will come up just short and win about 98 games.

  4. Possible. If they keep playing like they can then they might have a chance. They have a tough September with some big teams. I really hope they do just that it keeps the Yankees further out of the division. They're 11.5 games out right now.

  5. I would love to see the Rays break 100 but I don't think that will happen this year.

I predict they will win 94-96 games

  6. At their pace my best guess would be, 50% shot.  They are facing some good teams in that time, boston twice, minnesotta, and detroit.  I think they can do it, but we'll see.
