It will swing towards far more byzantine laws trying to limit gun ownership. Individuals right to own guns threatens government institutions. Precisely the reasoning behind the 2nd amendment.

We can only hope so.  The handgun ban in D.C. that lasted for 32 years didn't prevent the city from topping the Murder Capital of the world in 1998.

The reality is that guns are there to protect us from the very entity that is trying take them away.  Is that a coincidence?
