Will the Samsung SC-D372 work as a pass through for transferring my Hi8 tapes to my computer?

I heard that you can use a MiniDV camcorder as a pass through for putting Hi8 tapes to my computer. They say it is the best way because the video is only lightly compressed. So i was looking at cheap MiniDV camcorders and i came along Samsung SC-D372 that was refurbished for $80. That is about the price i was going to spend on dazzle. I want to know it will work before I buy it.

Only if the Samsung SC-D372 has a pass-through or AV-in capability. Most camcorders do not - but to know for sure, download the manual from the manufacturer's support area and see for yourself.

If the Samsung SC-D372 can do what you want it to do, you will need a firewire port on your computer (install one if it does not already have one) and a firewire cable.
