I'm currently in poland, and wondering if the Eclipse will be visible of the northern region. Any answers would be great before the Eclipse.

  1. Polonia Semper Fideles!

The August 1st solar eclipse is visible from all of Poland, but only as a partial eclipse.  Even in the far northeast of the country, which has the best view, barely 40% of the solar disc is covered.  You won't even know there's an eclipse in progress unless you remember to look and you have either proper equipment, like welder's glasses, or thin high clouds to break the solar glare.  There will be none of the usual eclipse phenomena, like birds heading for their nests, that people always hope to see.

Mid-eclipse is about 11:45 a.m. Central European Summer Time.

You have a long wait until the next total eclipse of the sun visible from Poland.  It's not until the morning of October 7, 2135, when the country's southern boder with the Czech lands and Slovakia will see one.

Perhaps you'd rather see a lunar eclipse.  Wednesday evening, August 16th, Poland has the best seats for the deep partial eclipse of the moon.  Starting at 9:36 p.m., all of the moon except the extreme upper limb disappears into the earth's shadow, with maximum eclipse at 11:10 p.m. Central European Summer Time.

  2. Most of Poland will see a Partial solar eclipse.

Less than half the sun will be covered by the moon - in Poland.

  3. no

  4. It will be visible as a partial eclipse in Poland. Some times for northern cities (Central European Summer Time):

Koszalin: Begins 10:44. Maximum 11:42. Ends 12:40. Sun's diameter obscured at maximum: 36%

Bydgoszcz: Begins 10:47. Maximum 11:45. Ends 12:43. Sun's diameter obscured at maximum: 35%

Bialystok: Begins 10:52. Maximum 11:53. Ends 12:53. Sun's diameter obscured at maximum: 39%

  5. probably not. according to an exhibit i saw at the beijing astronomy museum, it can be viewed in the northern part of china

  6. Yes it will

  7. Only a partial eclipse will be visible from Poland. The link in sources shows NASA's graphic of the eclipse. The dark blue band shows the path of totality, while the area bounded by light blue lines shows where a partial eclipse will be visible from.

  8. yes ..  although you cannot see the "Total Eclipse".  The dark blue path on this picture represents the Total and the  light blue the Partial paths. You can see that Poland falls in the light blue path.
