Will the Third Runway still go ahead now that air fares are to go up?

There will obviously be less travellers once prices go up as people will not be able to afford air travel and utility bills also so will it be feasible for them to make the third runway now?

The wheels of government turn slowly, so I would guess any plans already in place will continue.

But those in control might be wise to look at St. Louis, with their shiny new runway and barely any aircraft to use it.

A runway is an investment for possibly a century of use. I doubt the current state of travel will have much impact on a decision to build a runway.
