In the future, it will be safe to hold online votes, which will be much cheaper and less time consuming than regular votes. Do you think this technology will be used to allow citizens to vote directly on issues, such as tax changes and laws, rather than having congressman vote on their behalf?

  1. It sounds good but will never happen.

    Computer on-line voting, after the Diebold debacle, I like the Iraq voting method, where they dip your finger in purple ink and you cannot vote again.

    The people do vote directly for many issues including tax increases, they are called "initiatives", but the problem is many times the vote of the people is overturned by activist judges.

    The USA is a Representative Republic, and will always be that way.

    A democracy is what you seem to advocating, is simply "majority rules" or "mob rule", which will never happen.
