Will the U.S passport card replace the book passport in the future?

Will other countries follow suit? I like the idea. Hopefully in the future all our info will be in a chip implant and we can say good bye to all forms of ID, driver's licenses, credit cards, etc.

I haven't heard of a card. Be to easy to lose. But I'm sure if the USA did this so would everyone else.
