Will the USA have a war with Russia?

Question

Based on the conflict going on between Georgia and Russia, and based on President Bush saying "they (the Russians) had better take their troops out of Georgia"

Do you think this is a threat that president Bush will get our country involved in the war, if Russia doesn't obey his requests?

Candy Lee as much as your president worries you I think you can go to sleep tonight without fear of the "good ole boy" starting any more wars.

Russia will not obey the request from Bush, but then Bush cannot do anything about that. He is leaving office in a few short months, and I can't see him starting a war and handing it off to his successor to the oval office.

As much as an idiot I think he is, I don't think he is a "complete" idiot.

well i think russia and america have been good friends for a while and eventually soemthing has to happen, so i would most likely say yes, that in my opinion russia may have such a big conflict, that it mat turn into war. I definetely think it's a threat that bush will get our country involved in the war, obviously, Bush has gotten this coutry intto other wars which is enough of a threat that he willl most definetely tag us along into any other war, unless someone better than him becomes president.  But in this case we are doomed, neither of us know if any of the candidates for the next president are actually going to do what they say.  I think Bush is going over board with all these wars and, looking at what i just said, i think it is a big threat that we will get into a war because of bush.  And Russia can speak for themselves, they might not do as Bush says, why should they?  

anyway, dont worry about Bush, he worries all of us at times.

The president does not have the power to intervene without congressional approval and the liberals lean more towardwards surrender than fighting. All the equipment we had in Europe has been depleted in Iraq and our military is so tired it could do very little against the well rested Russian forces sproting fresh equipment and weapons. Our only action would be air strikes and without ground forces to act they would be useless.

h**l No!!! over Georgia?? HA HA there is no way we would get involved in a military conflict with a Nuclear Russia for them. Come on the cost is far too great. The only way that would happen is if any of our troops helping with the aid effort would come under attack, and even Russia isn't that stupid. Maybe if terms are made and we agreed on a conventional war then maybe it can happen, but we're stretched too thin to engage them and win.It can only end in a stalemate.

to all the people who think the USA military is bogged down and spread to thin.  i don't know where you get your info. but we haven't shown more than 1/8th of what we have.  as of oct. 2007 we have 1.44 million men and women enlisted in the military and more bullets and machines than we know what to do with.   people,  the USA is not a joke, not to mention we will draft if we need to

He worries the world.

His comments toward Russia are exactly what the rest of the world say about him. He has insulted Russia and the parts of the world that know the truth.

Russia did not start fighting the georgians They came to intervene after almost 2 days of bombing civilians and killing 2000 South Ossetia's in a genocide type of attack. Then when Georgia kille a dozen Russian peace keepers in south ossetia that was it , they attacked back.

Our mainstream news is reporting it just the opposite and its disgusting. Add GW's comments and you have an angry Russia.

Right now we have more battleships,aircraft carriers and nuclear subs in the persian gulf ready to attack Iran. If this country thinks it can go against Russia at this time it is sadly mistaken.

With d**k Cheneys radical schemes to take us to war like his recent meeting with his advisors when he mentioned painting 4 boats to resemble Iran's ships and have them attack our ships to take us to war it reminds me of how we got into veitnam. The gulf of Tonkin incident which was classified and now has been released where we made up the story of the veitnameze attack on our boats to generate the approval of war. Old trick but since Americans are not paying attention it continues.

Adivse, Keep lots of reserve food and water it might be better than gold in very near future. Protect yourself. Arm yourself. Be a patriot.

No the US can't do anything! If we go to War we would lose less then a year. Our economy is a joke and Bush with his party are dumb! Maybe if corporate funds the war. But they wont lend money out because their greedy and don't care.They would fund China I bet if it went to War with America!

Fortunatly we wouldn't be able to cope with a war against Russia, especially with our military bogged down in two wars as it is!

If we could afford it I bet Bush would have already declared war!
