Will the USB wireless adapter work with wireless access point?

I am new to this wireless stuff and I recently bought a Qwest W1000 as an "wireless thing" for my M1000 modem, is that a wireless access point then? (I can connect my PSP and DS with it.) So, if I buy a USB wireless adapter for my other PC, would they connect and would I be able to use the internet?

Sure as long as they are both of the same or a lesser wireless protocol (If you have G than you can use G or B adapters). It will defintly work
