  1. They are. They are hugely competitive...They will never compete in arrogance or in the sky sports marketing and hype stakes though.

    edit...

ignore me......welsh regonal teams r shite. Really disappointing today. You get the impression they are not in the here and now.

  2. They obviously play in a different league. If you look at last years winner of the Magners League they were Welsh.

A very big topic this one so cannot answer in one shot.

    Cheers

  3. In a lot of respects they are better. In terms of entertainment and fan sociability, the welsh teams exceed their english counterparts. And when taken into consideration how badly utilised their marketing and development potentials are, I think we could easily overtake english teams within a few years.

  4. Not any more, the English government has closed nearly all the coal mines, where the Welsh used to churn out some really hard top players, the English were scared, it wasn't about the lack of coal

  5. Yes i belive so. Rugby has a nasty way of turning around in the world and its a cycle.

  6. gee that's hard to say -mmmm lets see, oh yes, probably the best way to look at that would be to look at the results in the edf cup. Welsh sides seem to be doing OK there...

  7. there isn't as much money in the Welsh game so when one team like the Ospreys get a big sponsor, they can buy up all the best players and the other regions are left with players not up to standard. Compare this with the top English regions who can buy All Blacks, French internationals and the best foreign coaches and it doesn't look as if the Welsh will ever be able to compete. If the Welsh regions were run more proffessionally then they may be able to get the better players and coaches but they are still way behind in their organisation of the teams.
