  1. Home schoolers can join the military! Talk to the recuriter about the specifics. You can easily call and ask or set up an appointment. You may find what youare looking for here http://home.kc.rr.com/milhmschlhq/milita...

  2. Correspondence schools may or may not have problem with accreditation by other institutions. The biggest problem with accreditation is that there is no evidence that you were the one who actually took the tests to obtain the grades.

Sometimes these schools offer university associate degree two-year programs that are accredited or are offered in association with other universities. In that case, they will definitely accept their own high school diplomas as prerequisites.

You could check with the recruiter to see if the Penn-Foster diploma is recognized for credit. If in doubt, use the home study course to prepare for the GED equivalency diploma. This is definitely accredited everywhere and is offered by state institutions such as community colleges. You have to pay $100 to take the tests. There are 5 of them covering language skills, social science, math and sciences.

  3. The Army will take anyone who tests as fit and not a mental case. The only time they might get fussy is if you're talking about officer training not just enlisting.
