  1. anything to make a quick profit, that is the nature of the highstreet bank, I would come to terms with it, it will only get worse.

  2. They will learn when these fees actually make an impact on customer retention. My guess is that you won't be leaving the bank as a result. And even if you do you'll just go to another bank that has the same fee structure and someone from that bank will replace you at yours. So as long as they can charge you they will charge you. It's all about shareholder value.

  3. The charges are published.  You fell for it.  Now switch to Nationwide before they rip you off again.

  4. I don't see what the problem is. They have charged you a fee for providing an additional service (foreign currency exchange). A few minutes on their website and looking for various leaflets shows that they will charge a fee for this service. No doubt it also states this in the T&Cs you would have receive with your card when you opened your account. Customer error ONCE AGAIN.

  5. Perfectly legitimate, they tell you that when you sign up with them. Read the agreement about charges that you signed.

  6. You are buying foreign currency so you need to pay their standard service charge.
