Owned by Mrs Richard Hambro, Dover’s Hill is another tough competitor looking to secure a placed finish. His last two races were not impressive, but it is speculated that he will perform well this time because of the sound surface. It is the kind of a firm
surface that the ten-year-old gelding is used to and will likely excel on it.
The son of Pistolet Bleu, out of Classic Beauty, finished sixth in the GL Events Owen Brown Silver Cup Handicap Chase, at Ascot on 17th December, 2011.
This will be the gelding’s first race of 2012. His trainer Mary Hambro, is hoping that Dover’s Hill will take advantage of this track and race to the best of his ability.
He demonstrated his excellent skill earlier on 3rd April, 2011. The track was good instead of soft, and he managed to defeat the joint race favourite, Helpston, by an immense margin of 12 lengths in the Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Novices’
Chase, at Market Rasen. His connections are hoping this race will be a shining moment for them.

Ballyfoy trained by Gary Moore, has also shown remarkable progress in his previous race. He improved his position as he finished as a runner-up in the Betfair Brings You Better Value Novices’ Hurdle, at Fontwell on 7th March, 2012, where he lost
by a neck to Heavenstown.
M.K George his owner hopes that he will be able to succeed in his race, as he lost by an extremely narrow margin in the previous race. He ran well over the hurdles in his last race and is expected to do just as well in this race.
The bettors are placing their bets mostly on Martys Mission based on his previous performances and his status as a favourite. It is likely that he might finish first in this race.
The contender for a finish in the second place is Dover’s Hill, based on his familiarity with this kind of track.
The third place may be acquired by Ballyfoy or Song Sung Blue.
