Will the decline in the value of the American dollars ever recover to what it used to be?

I recently purchased a product online from England, my credit card said the exchange rate was 49 cents to the pound.

You guys say it will shift east, but you forget that every eastern currency except the Japanese yen is tethered to the dollar.

The American dollar will probably not ever recover to the powerhouse it used to be because America needs to balance its trade deficit somehow, too keep at least some exporting industries intact.

You should try losing some weight.  No.  I don't think the dollar will rule the globe anymore.  The shift is to the East.

No - power is shifting to the East and Russia is rising again. We are living on borrowed money and when that stops the dollar is doomed. If has only one way to go - down. Buy some gold.
