Will the dye from a ct scan make you sick to ur stomach

i had a ct scan earlier today for information about my lower three ribs on my left side

they gave me an iv to show things more in detail

that was at 830 this morning and its now 11pm

should i feel sick to my stomach?

Did you have oral contrast as well?   Many CT scans use IV contrast, but sometimes they have you drink a liquid contrast as well.  It can make you feel queasy.  Sometimes just getting the IV form can make you nauseous as well.  Drink plenty of fluids to help flush the contrast out of your system.  You should feel better by tomorrow.

Dangerous reactions to the contrast would be rash, itching, hives, difficulty breathing, or swelling of your mouth or tongue.

the iv dye can cause mild nausea.  drink tons of water to get the dye out of your body.  if you have any other symptoms like shortness of breath, chest pain, itching or a rash, call you dr immediately and/or get to the ER.
