  1. by 2012, scientists say not likely.

And by the 'earth going under' do you mean the end of human existence? If so, they're are many factors that could contribute to the extinction of human existence. For instance, a WWIII fought with the mass destruction of nuclear weapons could wipe out human kind, if not that, the varying deadly chemicals that are left behind would do the trick. Global warming is also a possibility; it may not wipe our entire species, but it will damningly wipe out civilizations. If temperatures continue to rise (even if it's only 1 degree) it could melt the icecaps of both the north and south poles rising the ocean waters a possible 40 feet - that means wiping out every city and town by the coast (which could kill millions, the aftermath may also potentially leave billions sick, famine, and dead). A deadly virus is not out of the question either, remember the hype surrounding the deadly avian virus? Yes, it may be a little over-dramatized and nonetheless, hyped, but the truth still remains. Situations similar to this has happened before during WWI, when a virus (that affected the lungs I believe) went widespread in its destruction to kill millions of people.

But inevitably, at some point, the earth is due course to its own path of destruction even if the human race is not dawn to see that day, it will still happen all because of the SUN. Eventually when the sun runs out of hydrogen gas to fuel itself (don't worry, that's not going to happen until a couple more billion years) it will engulf every planet that's near it, explode, then become a dwarf.

  2. Funny thing.  Nobody ANYWHERE ever claimed that Nostradamus predicted anything for 2012 until *after* that whole Mayan calendar nonsense came out on the History Channel.

Back in the 80's, Nostradamus "experts" were so confident that a documentary was made predicting world war 3, the west coast of the US being destroyed by an earthquake, some Arab taking over the world, and the apocalypse by nuclear holocaust.  Only problem is that these things were all supposed to happen in the 1990's and the world would be in total ruins by 2003.

Nothing is going to happen in 2012, that anybody knows about -- Nostradamus interpreters and other quacks notwithstanding.

  3. Nostradamus never prophesied anything correctly and I'm not even aware he said anything about 2012. His followers 'interpret' his obscure writings, then after an event takes place, they say "Ah yes, that's what he must have been talking about."

There's always an end of the world scare, so that shysters can make money from books and TV. In fact, if there came a time when wasn't an end of the world scare taking place, then I would start to get worried.

  4. its a pity you wont take the time to actually read a book... or read a wiki... or  read...

Nostrildamus predicted the end of the world in 2375.

    also WW3 in 1986

he was a drunk, what can i say?

  5. No, because only God knows when it will happen. Remember the world will end in 2000 because of the new millennium, or how about 06/06/06, the Devil one. That really scared me but it didn't happen. This is the first time it has been said that the world will end and will not be the last.

  6. Ken, thank you for that.  Thank you so very much.

  7. Do you even research diligently? Seriously, Nostradamus? You're getting your information from HIM? Doomsday 2012 has no scientific support WHATSOEVER. Come on, if the Mayans were so smart that they could "predict the end of the world Dec 21, 2012" then how come they weren't smart enough to figure out when the Europeans were going to show up and kill them all?? Or to also invent gunpowder so they could make guns to shoot the Conquistadors???? Seriously, I can't wait until Dec. 22, 2012 when people will actually stop asking these questions.

  8. I sure hope not! But no one can tell for sure, it could happen anytime!!!

I guess, we will just have to wait and see.

  9. no, i doubt it.  the end of the world was supposed to happen several times already, and has never occurred (to my knowledge), so I doubt it will happen in 2012.

...but it would be kinda cool if it did!

i think nostradamus was not a prognosticator, anyway.  all those people who "interpreted" his work, though, claim he was so that they can claim the credit and celebrity.

i think the Maya were wicked awesome in their beliefs, though.

  10. This has been asked thousands of time and the answer is always the same.  All the stuff about doomsday 2012 is complete  and utter drivel from fakes, frauds and fools.

It is all lies and fraud to get people buying faked up books, videos, watching nonsense shows on TV and directing traffic to fraudulent websites.

Pole shifts - no, not a chance.  The Earth’s axis of rotation is stabilised by the Moon’s gravity.

Magnetic poles flip - no, they will just keep moving as usual.  They are likely to change ends at some time in the geologically near future but it will take hundreds to thousands of years to happen.  Meanwhile, the magnetic field will not disappear, but it will probably get more complex.

Mayan calendar - one of their calendars ends in 2012. There is no prediction attached to this and even if there was, it would be astrology and that has been disproved so many times that it's not worth any more words.

Solar maximum - expected in 2011, not 2012 and it happens every 11 years anyway.

Predicted planetary “alignments” are completely false.  The positions of the planets will be about as far from an "alignment" as you can imagine.  The next "alignment" of the major planets is expected sometime after the Sun burns out.  Even if it did happen the question would arise "So what?"  Where is the physical connection between Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn etc?

Gravity?  Like to calculate how strong the gravitational effects of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn is on Earth?  Multiply the masses of the planets together, divide by the square of the distance between them and then multiply by the gravitational constant, which is a rather small number.  Now add them all together and you still don't have a hill of beans.

Newton knew how more than 200 years ago, but our planetary alignment freaks never care to because the result would make them look as silly as they are.

Venus will transit the Sun in June 2012, just as it did in 2004 and on a regular roughly 110 year cycle before that.  No noticeable effect then except on astronomers, some of whom will take measurements, no expected effect this next time.

Planet X / Niburu / black hole / brown dwarf / wandering planet - No.  It was predicted for 2003 by a loony woman who claimed telepathic contact with aliens.  No sign of it then and still no sign of it.  If this big nasty exists it must be quite close by now and visible with a fairly ordinary astronomical telescope.  Where is it?  Don't say it can only be seen from the southern hemisphere, there are many large astronomical telescopes in the southern hemisphere.  Radio telescopes too.

25,800 year cycles.  This is called "precession of the equinoxes" and was discovered a bit more than 2100 years ago. It has been happening since the Earth formed billions of years ago and will not stop, start or change direction in 2012.    There is no particular significance in the direction the poles of rotation happen to be pointing at present or in 2012.

The Bible codes are superstitious drivel and were disproved within months of the first book coming out, similar coded messages can be found in any random book or even newspapers using the same "anything goes" methods faked up by the author of the original book.

Revelation - nobody ever made sense of those febrile maunderings, the evidence for that is that there are so many different interpretations.

Nostradamus never predicted anything accurately and he may not have intended to.  Many editions of his quatrains contain faked verses inserted long after he died.  We were told he predicted the end of the world for 2000 too, but I never saw the actual verse that was supposed to foretell this.

Galactic central plane - we are near it, so astronomers say, but we have always been near it, though nobody actually knows exactly where it is.  No exact "alignment" is possible because of the angle of the ecliptic to that of the galactic central plane.  A rough “alignment” of Sun, Earth and the galactic centre happens twice every year and nothing happens.  Even if there was an exact “alignment”, the question would be "So what?"

Photon belt - this one is almost the silliest of the lot.  Supposed to be around the "7 Sisters". Our solar system is heading away from them, not towards them.  It does not exist anyway.

This is all fake scholarship, pseudo-science, lies, superstition and abject delusion. Anyone who tells you that there is any truth to it is a liar or a fool.

  11. no , earth is half life we have like 5bill years left. so dont worry.
