I bought 5 long fin zebra danios today and the other fish in the tank at Petsmart was nipping off the fins. I have one with the fins almost all the way gone. The kind of fish they had with the danios was bloodfin tetras. Anyway will the fins grow back?

  1. They shoud, though if they're really bad, may not look the same as they did before.  Be sure to keep he water quality good and do frequent partial water changes.

  2. The fins should grow back, just make sure to do regular water changes to keep the quality of the water up and for the fish w/ its fins almost all gone make sure he's eating enough b/c he probably cant swim very well leaving him at a disadvantage for food.

Adding 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt for every 5 gallons of water will help speed along the healing process. I have a figure 8 puffer that i bought at petco and it had a nipped tail fin, i added the aquarium salt and it fully grew back in about 2-3 weeks.

    I hope this helps!
