Question:

Will the goverment take money from my boyfriend if i apply for public Aid for me and my daughter?

I'm 21 and have a 1 year old daughter.I'm not married but still with my Baby's father . If i apply for public aid benefits will they take money away from my boyfriend for child support or something. I have no way of making money because no none will watch my baby or can be trusted .I have no car and my boyfriend works day and gets paid cash every 2 weeks

  1. When you apply for public aid, they'll ask you about the baby's father. If you lie and tell them you don't know who or where he is, when they find out the truth, (and they will) you'll have to pay back the money you received.

    If you tell them who he is, they'll go after him for child support.

    Don't try to cheat the system for his benefit. The baby is his responsibility, too, so make him step up to the plate and support it.


  2. If you look I have the same quest. So I had to hit it up, but anyway I was told that if the father is on the case with you and the baby then they wont go after him, and plus if all the three of you are all on the case you'll get more money. do you at least get the food stamps? cuz we do.
