Question:

Will the graphite shaft break if all the paint is not of the tip?

I had most of it off but it wasn't black. Is the club going to break.

  1. Paint should have no effect on the sturdiness of your graphite shaft.  However, if the actual graphite is wearing down, its possible the structural integrity can fail, thus increasing the chances your shaft will break.


  2. If your worried about the shaft breaking put a coat of clear nail polish over it. I've never had a shaft break because of paint wearing down but I have had the tip break off and the heads go flying 75 yards down the fairway lol.
